KHILADI 786 – Quick Thoughts
An alleged return to the Khiladi series for Akshay Kumar, this one kinda scratches the surface rather than immerse us into the Khiladi spirit. Personally, I found it a tale of two halves, the first being ridiculous but funny filled with crazy lines and PJs that made me chuckle, while the second went into a downhill spiral of mehness sprinkled with ineffective sentimentality. Akshay is quite charming and effective as the garish, lovable, goon-bashing ‘Bahtar’ while the rest of the cast play off him sportingly. Himesh Reshammiya’s genuinely foot-tapping numbers are annoyingly catchy and keep this from being unwatchable. TP if you like this sort of thing.
